Radcliffe (A) Match Preview

Radcliffe (A) Match Preview

This Saturday is our second away game of the week as we make the short trip across Greater Manchester to the Neuven stadium to face Radcliffe FC.

At Tuesday night’s 2-0 defeat to Bamber Bridge, creating chances was not an issue for the tigers, but failed to put opportunities to bed and were punished by Bamber Bridge on the counter. Nick Spooner in his post-match interview demanded a higher work rate from his side this weekend as we look for our first victory of the league season. Jack Redshaw was replaced just before half time with a knock, and will be assessed this week to see the extent of his injury.

The opposition
Radcliffe came into the new season much fancied by many followers of the NPL premier division after some impressive signings. Firstly, in the dugout with the appointment of ex Salford City & Chester managerial duo, Anthony Johnson and Bernard Morley. In addition to this, they added quality to their playing squad with experienced signings. Striker Jordan Hulme joined from National League side Altrincham, and midfielder Lois Maynard signed from Oldham Athletic among many others.
Radcliffe have started the season as many predicted, sitting top of the table after a 4-0 away win at Warrington Rylands and a 4-2 victory at home to Lancaster.
