Hyde United were comfortable 3-0 winners over Marske United to move up to 4th in the table.
The first half was even on chances and those in the ground didn’t know which way the game would swing. Marske’s closest effort came on 16 minutes as Daniel Myers found Curtis Round in the box but his effort only found the post and was cleared.
It was Hyde who took control of the game, taking the lead with virtually the last kick of the first half. Antoine Makoli skipped past Camrom Gbadebo and layed off to Lewis Alessandra who kindly returned the favour and Makoli chipped over the diving Yaqub.
The home side made it two on 54 minutes as Gbadebo made a clumsy challenge on the pacey Makoli inside the box clipping his heels and forcing him down. Jack Redshaw stepped up from the spot and sent Yaqub the wrong way.
Hyde’s tempo came from midfield, and Shakeel Jones-Griffiths wrapped up an impressive performance and secured the win on 76 minutes. His strike from outside the box took a deflection and Yaqub couldn’t prevent it from finding the bottom corner.
The result leaves the visitors in the relegation zone and the home side in the early battle for the play off places.
