Under 19s Remain Undeated

Hyde United FC 19’s 2 – 0 Deans Youth 19’s

This weeks fixture saw the U19s face Deans Youth at home. Going into the game Hyde were unbeaten and were yet to concede after the first 2 matches. Hyde started on the front foot, creating a number of chances during the first half including a disallowed goal and hitting the bar on two separate occasions. On the brink of half time the visitors were awarded a free kick on the edge of the penalty area. This proved to be Deans Youth best chance of the half but didn’t come to fruition as the Hyde wall stood strong, meaning going into the break the game stayed at 0-0.

Hyde started the second half well and continued to dominate. Early on in the second half a ball through the middle split the Hyde defence allowing the Deans Youth centre forward a certain 1-on-1 with the goalkeeper. This was until centre half Jack Fisher recovered well and stopped what would have been the best chance of the game.

As the game continued more and more chances arose for Hyde and frustratingly none were taken. This was until 15 minutes to go a Flynn Pearson corner was flicked on at the near post by a Deans Youth player, beating the keeper and consequently give Hyde the lead. With the game at 1-0 Hyde gained the confidence to press on and not long after made it 2-0. A strike from right back Dylan Ryan was dashed along the ground and ended up beating the keeper from 30 yards out.

The final chance came a couple of minutes before the end. Midfielder Joseph Ohiwereime’s left footed effort from 25 years out curled onto the underside of the bar and into the back of the net, or so we thought! With the ball cannoning back from the inside of the goal the referee was deceived and the goal wasn’t given. Maybe goal line technology would have had it’s say in that one!

Hyde managed the game well for the remainder and secured the 2-0 win, making it 3 wins from 3, 8 scored and 0 conceded! Notable performances from the back line, Dylan Ryan, Cameron O’Shaughnessy, Jack Fisher and Dan Shaw allowed Hyde to pick up another clean sheet, with Dan Coogan and Adam Leah providing most of Hyde’s chances down the flanks.
