Testimonials

Below are some of the communications you have received from Luton supporters who attended our home game against Luton Town on 26th April 2014:

I’ve been a Luton supporter for nearly 50 years and had an entertaining afternoon at Ewen Fields on Saturday, even though Luton’s football was well below standard and your guys were unlucky not to get at least a point. There were times I thought you were going to win. It is difficult on that performance to see why you had such a poor record this season – the players were very lively and often more skilful than the Hatters – what let them down time after time was a rush of blood to the head when they sighted goal! At least the Luton goal was an object lesson in keeping your nerve – young Alex Wall, who had been knocking them in for Dartford on loan for much of the season, showed why he’s one for the future with his clinical finishing.

Good luck next season. One hope is that you won’t be playing Altrincham, my boyhood team before I moved South – fingers crossed they will win the Conference North play-offs!

Best wishes,

Mike Broadbent

Thank-you for the most enjoyable evening at Ewans field yesterday and the amazing welcome you gave to all of us from Luton. I think one of the keys to our success this season was summed up yesterday. We gained points not playing at our best. It was a case of the better team lost yesterday.

When we came into this league 5 seasons ago I like everyone felt we would come straight back up and easily win the league. What has happened since has made us appreciate just what a tough league this is and we leave it in my belief better supporters from the experience. Much of this is down to people like yourself and all the wonderful fans you have. It has been one of the surprising pleasures how welcoming most if not all clubs have been. I have not managed to get to as many away games as I would have liked but they have been the highlight of our time down here. Yesterday was one of those days. Not wanting to bore you too much we came via Sheffield combining the trip with dropping our eldest lad back at Uni so my wife came as well. It was the first game she’s been to a game for ages and her comments were how friendly everyone was and how good the cups of tea were and why are this team bottom of the league! Arriving back in Harpenden at 1am we somewhat regretted not staying over

After you won in tremendous style last season at Kenilworth road I wondered what this season would be like and I am sorry it hasn’t worked out so well. I really hope next season you do well

Leaving the game yesterdays game I said to one of your supporters this division will indeed mourn the loss of both teams

All the best for the future I will continue to check your progress and remain a follower on twitter

your a great club with a small but brilliant set of fans!! my son and I were made to feel welcome from the minute we got into the social club a few hours before the match at this point I need to say girls behind the bar were the loveliest and happiest we have encountered this season a special thank you to them!!! also on the pitch afterwards a number of your players shook both mine and my sons hand
which is again fantastic along with some supporters who called us over to the shed for a chat.
I/we have nothing but praise for you as a club and hope you get back up to the premier very quickly again many many thanks

Dear Hyde FC
I am a Luton supporter and came to Hyde yesterday and wanted to pass on my thanks to everyone associated with the club, the staff, officials and the fans. I was quite overwhelmed with the friendliness at the club, we went into the social club before the game for a drink and swapped stories and sang songs together, its the way it should be. If supporting my club at non-league level has taught me anything its to appreciate my football more, whatever level you find yourself at and to never take anything for granted. Your fans are a credit to the club.
All the best for next season.

Best Wishes

Angie

And here are some other letters of thanks we have received.
