We have signed Lewis Rawsthorne on loan from Radcliffe FC.
Lewis initially joined Radcliffe at the start of last season after scoring 31 goals for Atherton LR.
Last season he had loan spells at FC United, Atherton Colls and Stalybridge Celtic, where he scored 13 goals in 28 games last season.
Please note that this Saturday’s home game to Runcorn Linnets will now kick off at 1pm.
This is due to the high temperatures expected on Saturday. If you are coming please take appropiate measures to keep cool and hydrated.
Will Hall has signed on to stay at the club for another season.
Will joined last summer from Clitheroe and made 28 appearances in a season which was blighted a three month injury layoff.
Watch what Will had to say about staying for another season.
Ben Kershaw has rejected the terms offered to him and won’t be returning for the 2025/26 season.
Ben joined us last summer from Stoke City and despite an injury hampering him mid season he managed 39 appearances across all competitions scoring two goals, away at Bamber Bridge and at home to Basford.
We thank Ben for his contribution and wish him well for the future
Two more players have been re-signed for the 2025/26 season as Matty Fearnley and Drew Baker have agreed to stay on.
Manager Nick Spooner said ”Both Fearns and Drew are buying into what we are trying to do for the forthcoming season and we are delighted they are signing on again.”
We have added to our ranks the signing of highly rated left back Taylor McMahon from North West Counties side Irlam.
McMahon came through the ranks at Stockport County and has had loan spells at Leek Town and Stalybridge Celtic.
Last season he played 44 times for Irlam and was a pivotal part of their victory over us in the Manchester Premier Cup Final.
Manager Nick Spooner said ”Taylor is somebody who comes highly rated and who we’ve kept tabs on, we saw how he performed against us in the final and that made us even more eager to sign him”
We are delighted to announce that Tom Pratt has re-signed for the club.
After two season away with spells at Guiseley and Nantwich Town, the forward will be looking to add to his 62 goals in 223 appearances from his first spell.
Manager Nick Spooner said ”Pratty has been away for a couple of season but has always spoken about wanting to come back and it’s a deal that suits all parties”
Nick Spooner has made his first signing of the summer bringing in experienced goalkeeper Yusuf Mersin
Mersin started his career at Millwall before moving to Liverpool. Mersin has played at the likes of Crawley, Dartford and Maidstone. The 30 year old has also represented Turkey at youth team level. After leaving Mickleover in the summer he has now joined the Tigers for the coming season
Nick Spooner on his new recruit:-
‘’Yusuf is an experienced goalkeeper, he has lots of experience in the National League and it’s what we need as we have had a lot of loans or young keepers, like Callum last season, so we look forward to working with him.’’
Nick Spooner has signed a new one year contract to stay at the club. This will be Nick’s fourth full season in charge and he explained his decision to stay at the club.
’It’s all about stability for me, I had players asking for commitment, so I committed as well.
It was a very easy decision, it makes it easier for me to talk to players, both ones we want to stay and ones who we want to sign.
