Match & Supporter information v Warrington Town – 22nd April.

There will obviously be a larger than expected crowd at Warrington Town this coming Saturday (22nd), so Warrington officials are encouraging all supporters to purchase tickets online as a means of reducing congestion at the turnstiles – . https://www.warringtontownfc.co.uk/tickets/
Although there will be no formal segregation, there will still be control measures in place and increased SIA stewarding. As with previous matches, we must remind all supporters to behave respectfully at all times and that pyrotechnics are against the law; we will take the strongest action against anyone infringing these rules.
Furthermore, we have just received a joint statement from the FA addressed to all Clubs  and their supporters, so please note its contents as attached.
JOINT STATEMENT FROM ENGLISH FOOTBALL ABOUT FAN BEHAVIOUR

”As we approach the closing stages of another exciting season across the Premier League, EFL, Women’s Super League, Women’s Championship, National League System and the FA Cups, there remains plenty to play for in all competitions, with titles, silverware, promotion, European qualification, play-off and relegation places all at stake.

The passionate support of fans is a vital part of what makes football so special in this country. It is completely understandable that emotions run high, particularly at this stage of the season when there is so much to play for.

However, we must remind supporters that in the interests of safety and wellbeing for everyone inside our stadiums, the pitch is for players, managers and officials, while the stands are there for fans to support their team.

At the end of last season, we witnessed some unwelcome scenes when fans entered the field of play without permission at several grounds. Even if this is done in celebratory fashion, any supporter who comes onto the pitch is breaking the law and putting the welfare of players, coaches, club staff and fellow fans at risk.

We know that this unacceptable behaviour is carried out by a minority of fans, and their actions do not represent most supporters, but they risk ruining the fantastic experience of a football match for everyone.

At the start of this season, the Premier League, EFL, NLS Leagues and The FA worked with the Football Supporters’ Association to introduce new measures and stronger sanctions to tackle anti-social and criminal behaviours, such as entering the pitch and the use of pyrotechnics.

This includes automatic club bans and police action, and we have seen cases this season which have led to fans receiving criminal records. This can impact employment and education prospects, restrict ability to travel overseas, and could result in a prison sentence. Club bans can also extend to accompanying parents or guardians of children who take part in this activity.

As we reach the exciting culmination of another thrilling football season, we want fans to continue to show their positive support as this can make all the difference to a team’s fortunes.

But our message is clear: fans must stay in the stands and avoid any unnecessary disruption at such a crucial point of the season.

Love Football, Protect the Game.

Mark Bullingham, FA Chief Executive

Richard Masters, Premier League Chief Executive

Trevor Birch, EFL Chief Executive

Kevin Miles, FSA Chief Executive

Kelly Simmons, Director of the Women’s Professional Game

Jack Pearce, Chair of The FA Alliance Committee”

MESSAGE TO ALL SUPPORTERS – PYROTECHNICS

It has come to the Board’s attention that there may be supporters contemplating taking smoke bombs to the Easter Monday derby at Stalybridge. The Board’s directive is quite clear on this – DON’T!

The Sporting Events (control of Alcohol) Act 1985 makes it an offence for any person to enter a football ground while in possession of a flare, smoke bomb or firework. The FA class all these as ‘pyrotechnics’.

We have already stated in two recent messages that the FA views all Clubs as responsible for their supporters at both Home AND Away grounds. If any incident occurs, the Club would then be subject to FA disciplinary charge and fines etc.

To be clear again, if any individuals are identified as transgressing these rules then they will be reported to the authorities and banned from all future Hyde United matches.

PLEASE TAKE HEED OF THIS MESSAGE AND KEEP YOUR SUPPORT POSITIVE.

Hyde United Board of Directors

Match Arrangements – Stalybridge Away

Following communications from our colleagues at Stalybridge Celtic, we have concurred with their decision to segregate our Easter Monday fixture at Bower Fold.

In a departure from some previous instances, Hyde supporters will be accommodated in the Town (bottom) end of the ground, with access via the first turnstile block, and have use of the bar and food facilities within the Events club.

Any Hyde supporters at the match requiring a seat should report to the middle gate and they can be accommodated within the main stand.

Please note this match will kick off at 1pm and the Board would like to remind all supporters to conduct themselves in a proper manner when attending matches both Home and Away.

The FA class each Club as responsible for it’s supporters regardless of venue, so it’s important that all supporters realise this and represent the Club and themselves in a respectful manner.

The Board absolutely encourages positive support, but, as with certain previous instances, if any individual(s) are found guilty of misconduct at matches and bringing the Club into disrepute, we will have no hesitation in taking the strongest action, including the issue of banning orders.

Hyde United v Whitby Town Match Preview

We are back at the Project Solar UK Stadium on Saturday as we host Whitby Town. It’s a hugely important match with a win the only aim as we look to get back into the play off places. Three defeats in a row have allowed other teams to leapfrog us into the top five but the squad and staff are determined to climb back into the play off spots on Saturday afternoon.

Last Game
The Tigers were narrowly defeated last Saturday at the Giant Axe, falling to a 2-1 defeat against Lancaster City. After going in at half time behind, Arron Fleming brought us level just after the break but Lancaster would go onto win late on in the game.
Whitby were also beaten in their last game 3-0 at home to fellow play off chasing side Marine.
Earlier in the season we drew 1-1 at the Turnbull Ground, a hard-fought point played in poor weather conditions.

Form Guide
Whitby are in mid-table, recovering well in the last few months after a slow start to the league campaign. They are 14th in the table on 47 points, 14 points behind us. In their last 5 games Whitby have 5 points, with 1 win, 2 draws and 2 losses. Scoring 7 goals in this time and conceding 8.
Whitby have played 18 games on the road this season and have 23 points. Their last game away from home was a 2-1 defeat to Bamber Bridge a fortnight ago. They haven’t tasted victory on the road since early February when they beat Stalybridge Celtic.

Players to Watch
Whitby have defender Harrison Beeden and forward Brad Fewster back from suspension. This will be a welcome boost for Whitby as Fewster is their top scorer with 11 goals. Beeden is a key target on set pieces and has also popped up with 5 goals. On recent occasions against us, keeper Shane Bland has produced some excellent saves, and the squad will be under no illusions about the stern test Whitby will propose.

Our Squad
Last week, two of the new signings made their debut, with AJ Leitch-Smith leading the line and Craig Carney having a solid first appearance in midfield.
There are no new injury concerns to report. It remains to be seen whether striker Will Russ will be fit enough to return to the squad. Manager Nick Spooner confirmed last week Will was back in light training after his ankle injury.

Transfer Deadline Day signings

It’s transfer deadline day across the league and Nick Spooner has moved to bring in four new players to bolster the squad ahead of the big push towards the end of the season.

AJ Leitch Smith has joined on loan from Warrington Rylands, the 33-year-old forward boasts over 200 Football League appearances with the likes of Crew, Port Vale and Morecambe and has experience at this level as well with Nantwich Town.

Craig Carney joins us from Colne, where he had been player coach, Craig scored against us earlier in the season when he scored in Colne’s FA Trophy victory at the Project Solar Stadium.  Craig is another one with experience in this division having played for Lancaster, Marine and Bamber Bridge.

Fuad Kasali is a lightening quick forward who has been promoted from our Under 21’s setup.  Fuad has worked his way up having been an athlete when he was younger and then playing for Manchester Central before joining Atherton LR in the North West Counties and he has impressed Nick Spooner with his attitude so far.

The final signing is goalkeeper Jack Atkinson, he joins as cover for Dan Atherton.  Jack has played at Halifax, Alfreton Town and most recently AFC Bury

We wish them all well in our time at the club.

Lancaster City v Hyde United match preview

Our next game is on Saturday 25th March as we travel to the Giant Axe to face the Dolly Blues, hoping to get back to winning ways after back to back defeats in the league.

New Additions
Manager Nick Spooner has racked up the phone bill this week making an impressive quartet of signings before the 5pm deadline on Thursday for transfers.
Striker AJ Leitch-Smith has joined on loan from Warrington Rylands whilst versatile midfielder / forward Craig Carney joins us from Colne. Some might remember Craig scored twice against us as Colne defeated us in the FA Trophy earlier this season.
Also joining the squad is goalkeeper Jack Atkinson, who was previously played for Alfreton & Bradford Park Avenue, he provides cover for Dan Atherton. Our final signing is winger Fuad Kasali who was signed forms from our Under 21s side.

Our last visit
The last time we went to the Giant Axe was just over a year ago, battling hard to a 0-0 draw, which turned into a valuable point in last season’s survival campaign.
Lancaster triumphed at the Project Solar stadium earlier in the season with a 2-1 victory.

Lancaster Stats
Lancaster are a formidable side at the Giant Axe, and haven’t tasted defeat at home in the league since the 3rd December and have won 5 in a row at home. However, with our impressive away record this season, it is a streak we will be hoping to break.
In the last 5 games Lancaster are top of the form guide with 12 points, scoring 9 and conceding 4. In comparison, we have 7 points from our last 5 games, scoring 6 and conceding 5. Lancaster are 11th in the league on 48 points.

Players to Watch
The dolly blues have ex tiger Kyle Brownhill in their team. We will look forward to catching up with Kyle but hopefully he doesn’t enjoy the game too much! Also one to watch is forward David Norris, still scoring goals at this level at the young age of 42.

Non-League Day offers
Lancaster have several offers for the game as part of Non-League day. Turnstiles will open at 1.30pm. There will be 50p off pints and bottles in the clubhouse between 1.45 – 2.30pm. Admission prices are reduced, £5 adults, £3 concessions & students and under 14s are free with a paying adult. See Lancaster’s website to purchase advance tickets. There is also a pay on the day option. If you wish to pay by card you will need to use the turnstile at the far end of the car park as all other turnstiles are cash only.

Hope you can make the journey and we can have another great following on the road to support the lads in search of all three points.
