Hyde United FC is proud to announce that five Academy players, Harry Judd, Callum Jeffries, Callum Jones, Rhys Holmes and Chay Lomas, have officially signed with the First Team.
This milestone marks a significant moment for the club and a shining example of the successful player pathway that runs from our youngest age groups right through to senior football and the club’s commitment to developing local talent.
Over the years, the club has invested heavily in building a complete development programme — starting from our Under-6s all the way up to the Under-21s, providing a clear route for ambitious young players to progress within the Hyde United system.
First Team Manager Martin Coyne said:
”It is fantastic to see players who have grown up through the system now earning the opportunity to represent Hyde United at senior level, they have shown the right attitude, ability and commitment and they deserve the opportunity”
Academy manager Josh Wallbank-Scales said on the promotion of the academy lads:-
”We’re immensely proud of the players coming through the academy and to have the support of Martin and the first team staff to use the pathway that we’ve built as a club!

A special moment on Saturday as Ricardo Da Costa, came on a substitute against Whitby Town, and became our youngest ever first team player to represent the first team at 17 years and five months beating Reece Mellor from last season at 17 years and eight months.
As well as a win for the first team this weekend the Under 21’s had a dramatic 4-3 win away at Stalybridge at Bower Fold .
After being 2-0 down at half time, two goals from Judd and a goal apiece from Maquengo and Decandia saw them win a dramatic derby.
Their was also success for our ladies team as they continued their unbeaten start to the season thanks to a 1-0 success at West Didsbury and Chorlton Reserves, thanks to a goal from Tash Sithole.
Our new Under 21’s are in action this evening as they take on AFC Blackpool at the Project Solar Stadium.
