The Hyde United Board were extremely sad to hear of the recent passing of former Director and Club Secretary, Alan Slater.

Alan was on the Board of Directors from the late 60s onwards and became an extremely effective Club Secretary when taking over from David Goodwin in the mid 80s. His service to football lasted a good 50 years following a further period as Secretary of Droylsden FC.

Following consultation with family members, we intend to pay our respects to Alan with a minute’s applause at the Home match v Warrington Rylands this coming Saturday, March 23rd.
