Guiseley v Hyde – Match Preview

Guiseley v Hyde – Match Preview

Hyde return to action in The Northern Premier League on Saturday as they take a trip over to the Pennines as Guiseley are The Tigers opposition.

Coming off the back of a disappointing draw last week at home to Bamber Bridge, Hyde will look to bounce back in the first of 5 games in a row against sides that currently sit in the top 8 of the NPL. Nick Spooner’s men will want to get the run of games off to a good start with a victory that will ensure they stay above their opponents.

Guiseley currently sit 3rd in the form guide, gaining twelve points from their last 6 games scoring 16 goals. Former Tiger Tom Pratt has scored 2 in his last 3 for The Lions and is on good form as he faces his old club. Last season Guiseley had to settle for mid-table mediocrity as they finished 13th with no threat of promotion or relegation at any point in the season. However they recruited well in the summer and are now pushing for the play offs as we approach Christmas. In the reverse fixture on the opening day the 2 teams couldn’t be separated as the game finished 1-1 with Bailey Thompson grabbing the goal.
