The Hyde United Board were extremely sad to hear of the recent passing of lifelong supporter and Honorary vice-President, David Goodwin.

David was a former Secretary of both the Football Club and the official Supporters’ Club during the 70s & 80s and was voted by his peers as the Cheshire League’s Secretary of the Year in 1980.

When the Tigers reverted back to a grass pitch in the mid 90s, David then became a key part of the pitch maintenance team alongside then Head Groundsman, Charlie Skachill.

In more recent times, David was a pivotal member of our ground clearance volunteers,  along with brothers John & Roger,

In recognition of his service in many areas, the Club were delighted to present David with a well-deserved Honorary vice-President award in 2021.
