Three youngsters sign on

We are delighted that Reece Mellor, Alex Pritchard and Joe Hatch have all signed first team forms.  The trio are part of the Hyde United academy and were integral in last week’s win over Marine in the FA Youth Cup.

 

Manager Nick Spooner said, ”In signing these three lads, it shows the pathway from the juniors through to the first team. The club has worked hard over the last few years to establish the pathway and this is great example to all that hard work pays.

I came to watch the FA Youth cup last week and was very impressed with the whole team. 3 lads in particular really impressed so i invited them in to train with us this week. Reece, Alex & Joe all looked at home with us and really impressed during both sessions.

Reece & Alex have come through the junior system with Joe entering the club via the academy. Seeing both Reece & Alex’s journey starting at the juniors gives us great pleasure as this shows what hard work can help you achieve. A great message for all the junior & academy members of the club and a great showcase of the pathway that has been created at the club from U6 through to first team.”

Academy Manager Pete Boyle said ” I’m so proud of the lads for impressing enough to be signed. Everyone has worked so hard behind the scenes and I’m sure all 3 players will go on to achieve great things in football. No doubt there will be more of their u18 team mates joining them very soon too.
