Lancaster City v Hyde United match preview

Lancaster City v Hyde United match preview

Our next game is on Saturday 25th March as we travel to the Giant Axe to face the Dolly Blues, hoping to get back to winning ways after back to back defeats in the league.

New Additions
Manager Nick Spooner has racked up the phone bill this week making an impressive quartet of signings before the 5pm deadline on Thursday for transfers.
Striker AJ Leitch-Smith has joined on loan from Warrington Rylands whilst versatile midfielder / forward Craig Carney joins us from Colne. Some might remember Craig scored twice against us as Colne defeated us in the FA Trophy earlier this season.
Also joining the squad is goalkeeper Jack Atkinson, who was previously played for Alfreton & Bradford Park Avenue, he provides cover for Dan Atherton. Our final signing is winger Fuad Kasali who was signed forms from our Under 21s side.

Our last visit
The last time we went to the Giant Axe was just over a year ago, battling hard to a 0-0 draw, which turned into a valuable point in last season’s survival campaign.
Lancaster triumphed at the Project Solar stadium earlier in the season with a 2-1 victory.

Lancaster Stats
Lancaster are a formidable side at the Giant Axe, and haven’t tasted defeat at home in the league since the 3rd December and have won 5 in a row at home. However, with our impressive away record this season, it is a streak we will be hoping to break.
In the last 5 games Lancaster are top of the form guide with 12 points, scoring 9 and conceding 4. In comparison, we have 7 points from our last 5 games, scoring 6 and conceding 5. Lancaster are 11th in the league on 48 points.

Players to Watch
The dolly blues have ex tiger Kyle Brownhill in their team. We will look forward to catching up with Kyle but hopefully he doesn’t enjoy the game too much! Also one to watch is forward David Norris, still scoring goals at this level at the young age of 42.

Non-League Day offers
Lancaster have several offers for the game as part of Non-League day. Turnstiles will open at 1.30pm. There will be 50p off pints and bottles in the clubhouse between 1.45 – 2.30pm. Admission prices are reduced, £5 adults, £3 concessions & students and under 14s are free with a paying adult. See Lancaster’s website to purchase advance tickets. There is also a pay on the day option. If you wish to pay by card you will need to use the turnstile at the far end of the car park as all other turnstiles are cash only.

Hope you can make the journey and we can have another great following on the road to support the lads in search of all three points.
