Before Saturday’s game against Ilkeston, Nick Spooner has bolsted his striking options by bringing in forward Brad Holmes, on loan from Marine, and has also extended the loan of Ewan Bange, from Radcliffe FC for another three months.
Spooner said ”Brad is a player we know well he first came into us as a kid from Blackpool when we first got the job and was a bit raw but he has lots of experience at this level and the one above and we feel he can compliment Ewan and allow us try something different.
Ewen was an easy decision to extend, he has done really well for us and I spoke to Johnno (Anthony Johnson) at Radcliffe and they are happy with how it’s going and most importantly Ewan wants to stay.”
Due to an issue with our printer we haven’t been able to do a full print run of the game programme for this game.

Hyde United are saddened to learn of the passing of former player and manager Ged Coyne.
A former youth player with both Manchester United and Manchester City, Ged played for the club between 1981 and 1984 and also played for a number of clubs in the Tameside area including Ashton United, Dukinfield Town, Curzon Ashton and Stalybridge Celtic.
He became assistant to Les Sutton at Mossley and eventually took over at Seel Park before joining Hyde as manager from October 1992 until November 1993. Credited with bringing through talent such as the discovery of talented attacking players in ‘dazzling’ Darren Thornton and one of the Tigers all time greats in Ged Kimmins to the club and getting the best from players already at the club such as Phil Chadwick and David Nolan, he arguably helped to set the foundations for the better years to come. His managerial spell is remembered fondly by Hyde fans due to the attacking style of play which resulted in many entertaining matches.
He also went on to manage Glossop North End and Curzon Ashton.
Ged’s brother Peter also played for Hyde and son Martin is current assistant manager to Nick Spooner.
We send all our condolences to Martin and his family and to Ged’s family and friends, we will pay tribute to him on New Years Day at home to Macclesfield.
With thanks to Mossleyweb for the photo
The NYD game will be segregated, as it was last year.
Macclesfield supporters will enter the ground via the turnstiles at the bottom of our car park, behind our Social Club. They will then occupy the bottom half of Tinkers Stand, behind one of the goals, round to the start of Leigh Street stand.
This will give access to Big Als Corner, where they will be able to purchase food and alcohol at Big Als Tea Bar and Big Als Bar. Also, in that corner they will have access to male and female toilets.
At the end of the game, Macclesfield supporters will be required to exit the ground via the gates at the swimming baths end, into the leisure centre car park, by exiting along Leigh Street stand. This will lead them into the car park where there will be limited parking and where any coaches will be parked. Spectators will be subject to bag searches and pat-downs on entry by stewards.
For this match – entry into the Club’s main car park will be restricted and reserved only for Match Officials, Directors, Match Sponsors & those reserved for mobility reasons.
We remind ALL supporters that parking in the leisure centre car park is limited and on a first come first served basis, and that some surrounding streets are residence parking only. So, supporters generally should either travel on foot, by public transport or park away from the ground.
Away Tickets can still be purchased via https://app.fanbaseclub.com/Fan/Tickets/ChooseQuantity?ticketId=2935&fixtureId=8876
Be advised that Big Als Bar operates a self pour system using App2tap, which requires downloading of the App2tap App. Which requires an onboarding process, including age verification using a photo ID. It is advised that anyone wishing to purchase alcohol at the Big Als Bar should download the App and do the onboarding process prior to the match day to save time. The poster below explains the process and also contains the QR code to download the App.
