Naming Rights Granted To Solar Energy Company As Part Of Three-Year Sponsorship Deal

August 5, 2021

8Today marks an historic day for the football club, as we are delighted to announce our first ever stadium sponsor.
Project Solar UK will today begin a 3 year deal sponsorship deal as the main club sponsor.

The stadium will officially be renamed as The Project Solar UK Stadium.

New signage is currently being installed as we continue to completely redevelop the club.

Project Solar UK are the largest and most experienced installer of Solar panels across the UK, providing solar energy solutions for residential and commercial clients. This month the company celebrate their 10th Year anniversary.
With over 35,000 customers. Project Solar UK already have a big presence in the local community, sponsoring other football and sports projects including grass roots, fun days and raising money for local charities such as St Ann’s Hospice

The company has 2 central offices, one based just around the corner in Reddish Stockport which employs over 100 local staff and provides work for many self-employed contractors across the Northwest.
The main HQ is based in Burton-on-Trent. Combined the offices employ over 250 staff and 200 self-employed / contracted workers.

Solar Panels generate electricity by collecting energy that is generated during the day. The energy is converted into useable current with an invertor, the same as the electricity that is provided by the national grid.

Customers can save thousands of pounds as the Solar panels come with a lifetime warranty. New Solar battery options provide customers with other incomes and savings as they can trade energy at peak times. Project Solar UK will provide any home owners with a free home energy assessment to see if Solar panels will be suitable for your home.

Head over to the company’s website, https://www.projectsolaruk.com/, and take a look at the products and services they provide.
Today, Tom Armstrong and Ben Thorp, partners in the business, came to visit the club.

Tom Armstrong told us, “Living locally, I have always kept an eye on the Tigers’ progress as well as my sons playing in the youth teams. I heard Hyde United was looking for some support during and after Covid, after playing only around 8 games last season. After a brief visit I was so impressed with the youth development side of the club and the first team’s ambitious plans, we decided to have further discussions on how we could work together. Hyde United FC has a great community spirit, run by a board that really cares about the fans and local community. I am delighted our company can be involved in this long term project”.

Ben Thorp added, “We would like to thank the club’s board members and fans for this opportunity. We’re looking forward to supporting the club over the years and building on the success of the club base.”

Simon Peat, who founded Project Solar, added “We employ so many people locally that this sponsorship is mutually beneficial. It’s a great way to mark our 10-year anniversary.”

We look forward to working closely with Project Solar UK in a partnership that will be beneficial to both parties and we welcome them to the home of the Tigers.

The past 18 months have been difficult for many companies, and finding sponsorship on this level is hard to come by. So, great credit is due to those at the football club who helped to broker this deal and put in the work to get it over the line.
