Hyde United strengthened their position in the play offs after a 4-2 win against relegation threatened Liversedge.

Hydes first goal came after some patient build up play on 19 minutes. Callum Spooner played a ball behind the defence for Tom Pratt who took a touch and slotted into the bottom corner.

In contrast to the first goal, Hyde doubled the lead on 41 minutes as Neavins long clearance was flicked on by Russ and Fearnley, who made a run from midfield got beyond the Liversedge defence and slotted past the onrushing Boyes.

On 54 minutes Hyde got their third from the spot as Tongue rifled home the penalty after Fearnley was fouled.

The game flipped on its head on the hour mark as Hyde skipper Roscoe was sent off for a foul on Atkinson

This allowed Liversedge back into the game on 68 minutes. Jack Carr made a run with the ball into the box and found the net off the inside of the post.

The game became more nervy with ten minutes to play as Cartman poked home a loose ball in the box.

However hopes of the comeback were over when Hyde striker Will Russ produced a superb finish into the bottom corner to seal a deserved win for the tigers.
