Hyde United returned to the top of the table after a 3-1 away victory at Liversedge. Both sides deserve credit for an entertaining game of football in wet conditions on a tough pitch.

Hyde took the lead on 11 minutes, goalkeeper Dan Atherton took a quick free kick up to Joe McGlynn who flicked on for Tom Pratt, his shot was parried by keeper Mazfari, but only into the path of the onrushing Jack Redshaw who tapped in at the far post.

The visitors continued to create chances in the first half but for some last ditch blocks and tackles the scoreline could have been more at the break.

Hyde got their second after Redshaws free kick wasn’t claimed cleanly by Mazfari, was crossed back across goal by Pratt and Mampala tapped home at the far post.

Against the run of play Liversedge found a way back into the game, Nathan Cartman kept alive a corner which has half cleared by the Hyde defence, his cross across the box found Atkinson who tapped home.

Hyde resorted their two goal advantage and sealed all three points 15 minutes from time, substitute Edy Maiecos ran with the ball beat the defender, and fired the ball all the box and McGlynn with a backheel found the back of the net.
