Buxton prevailed in a tight affair at the Project Solar Stadium, with a 2-1 victory over Hyde United. Both sides were coming into the game on poor form, with neither having won any of their last 5 league matches.
Storm Malik caused both sides problems in the opening half an hour with neither goalkeeper having any saves to make, however once both sides handled the conditions the game opened up.
Either team could have gone in at half time ahead, with big chances at either end. Tongue and Uche both had attempts cleared in the Buxton six yard box, whereas Dawson put a free header over the top of the Hyde crossbar. Neither side found the net so it remained goalless.
The away side came out after half time on the front foot and found their lead when a low cross was poked home at the near post by Gilchrist.
They then doubled their lead four minutes later after a well taken goal by Clarke. He cut inside from the left and curled a shot around Green into the bottom corner.
Hyde managed to stay in the game and found a way back in after midfielder Liam Tongue made a bursting run with the ball and squared across the box for Jonah Mitchell to find the net.
Both sides finished the game with ten men as Elliott was given his marching orders after a kick out at Ikpakwu, and Prifti came across and shoved Elliott to the floor, to also earn himself a red.
