Basford United took all three points back to Nottingham thanks to a first half goal from Tyreace Palmer
The story of the game was Hyde getting around the box and finding shots off, but lacked the conviction and power to find the back of the net. Pratt and Brown both guilty of missing decent opportunities in the first half.
Then, on the stroke of half time Basford were gifted their lead as a mixture of a loose Hyde pass and miscommunication led Palmer to slotting gone past a helpless Joe Green.
The best chance of the second half came nine minutes after the break, new Hyde loanee Neavin unleashed a mighty long throw and Brown was free to get the ball in the six yard box, turned and shot but Preston pulled off an unbelievable save to tip over the bar.
As the minutes ticked away the Basford lineup dropped deeper and deeper, limiting Hydes ability to play the ball through them and only find room out wide. Subsequently, Hyde became frustrated and impatient leading to their crosses falling into the hands of Preston and shots being blocked and cleared.
The away side were rewarded for their hard work as they gained a vital three points to halt their dip in form. Meanwhile Hyde remain in the battle to remain in the division with nine huge games left in their season.
