The tigers earned their first home win of the season after a fine 3-1 against Buxton, on a warm bank holiday Monday.

The games against the bucks are always tough, and it proved so in the opening 20 minutes as the visitors weathered a small storm by Hyde and took the lead, De Girolamo heading a corner into the top corner from the far post. The tigers were perhaps fortunate to not go further behind a couple of minutes later as crosses were proving a problem, Roscoe and Brown forcing blocks by the Hyde defence.

But the visitors failed to find that all important second and were made to pay in style by a superb solo run from Pratt, who evaded numerous challenges and shot past Shenton, albeit via a deflection, but the run deserved a goal regardless.

Before the break, Hyde worked their way into the lead. It was that man Pratt again to thank as his vision to play Brownhill through forced Shenton to parry the ball away from goal but only into the path of Dyche who poked into the roof of the net. 2-1.

Hyde started the second half slowly, but luckily weren’t made to pay as Buxton failed to capitalise. All three points were sealed on 75 minutes when Priestly fouled Dyche inside the box, a penalty was awarded. Turner confidently stepped up, firing the spot kick right down the middle to earn his first tigers goal.
