On a blistering hot day at the Project Solar Stadium the points were shared in an entertaining encounter. It was a classic game of two halves with Radcliffe controlling the play in the first half and Hyde piling the pressure on in the second half.   

Radcliffe found their opening goal after Pratt lost the ball after the home side promising to build a good attack. Radcliffe countered quickly and won a free kick 25 yards from goal. Adams curled the ball in towards the far post and Meppen Walter claimed he got the faintest of touches to find the back of the net. 

Radcliffe had a chance to double their lead on the hour mark, but for a superb save from Hyde stopper Bellagambi who tipped a Thompson header over from two yards. 

From there on in, it was almost one way traffic with Hyde growing stronger, and were prevented from equalising after some great saves from Radcliffe keeper Stewart. The best being two close range stops from Fagbola and Brown to turn round the post. 

Hyde’s pressure paid off with an equaliser in the 89th minute, lively winger Jack Redshaw cut inside and unleashed an unstoppable effort that curled into the bottom corner from just outside the area, leading to wild celebrations from the home crowd. A well deserved point for both sides, who should take credit from producing a great game in the heat.
