Recap

Hyde United were victorious in a hard fought and physical encounter over Guiseley at the Project Solar Stadium.

The tigers came into the game high on confidence after four straight victories and they used their momentum to take an early lead. Stand in keeper Ellison started the attack off playing a ball just past half way into the path of Redshaw, who layed off to Tongue, he then found the run of Brown who finished cooly in the box dinking the ball over the onrushing goalkeeper and into the back of the net.

The home side showed more quality than their visitors in the first half, with the away sides direct play resulting in no threatening shots on goal from open play.

Guiseley responded after the break and got their equaliser on 50 minutes when the hard working Qasim crossed across the face of goal and Fagbola was unfortunate that it deflected off him and rolled into net for an own goal.

It wasn’t long until Hyde got their winner. A deep free kick by Spooner was kept alive by Brown and Roscoe and Fagbola redeemed himself with a thunderous header into the back of the net. Both sides had further chances to score but it was the home side who held on for the win.
