Recap

Hyde United failed to capitalise against  10 men Atherton Colls, who were a man down after 36 minutes. The visitors were organised and hard working to take home a share of the points.

Marcus Cusani was the man to be sent off for Colls. His first booking on 29 minutes was unnecessary as he stopped a free kick being taken. His second came minutes later for a late challenge on Callum Spooner and the referee had no choice but to produce a second yellow card.

Colls keeper Hansen made some smart saves to keep the game level and, despite the man disadvantage, Atherton took the lead just before half time. A counter attack led by Pettifer found Thompson who found bottom corner. Loud claims for offside for the assist were waved away.

The second half was, as expected, one way traffic, with the visitors sitting deep to protect their lead.

Hyde managed to find their equaliser on 79 minutes. A driving run forward by winger Manasse Mampala, as he got into the box and crossed low, which found substitute Edy Maieco to fire home only minutes after coming on.

However they failed to break down Atherton again and the match ended goalless, with Hyde left feeling it is two points dropped.
