Recap

On one of the hottest days of the year, Lancaster were comfortable winners over Hyde United by 3 goals to nil.

Lancaster took the lead after only three minutes. A Sam Bailey long throw was recycled and captain Andy Teague stayed up and was found in the box and he slotted home from six yards past Sam Waller.

On 39 minutes, Lancaster were awarded a penalty, after Joel Amado fouled Charlie Bailey in the box, but to the bewilderment of the crowd, the referee sent Brad Roscoe off for a second yellow card deeming he made the foul. Hyde were down to ten due to mistaken identity. Sam Bailey stepped up from the spot and doubled the lead for the visitors.

In the second half, the home side to their credit came out of the blocks looking to grab an early way back into the game. Lewis Alessandra came closest on 55 minutes as Jack Redshaw delivered a cross into the box which Alessandra rose highest but his header crashed off the crossbar.

Lancaster sealed the victory on 77 minutes, making it 3-0, as the Bailey brothers combined, Sam crossing into the box for Charlie who was unmarked and side-footed into the back of the net. Lancaster with their victory jumped up to 2nd place in the league, whilst Hyde are just outside the bottom four.
