He’s Back

We are delighted to announce the return of Callum Spooner who rejoins the club on a permanent free transfer from Southport FC

After leaving in the summer, Callum is back, and made his 104th appearance, after making his second debut at Ilkeston last night.

Nick Spooner said ”Callum became available and once we knew that we decided to make a move and after the success of his last spell here it was a no brainer”

Callum said ”I wasn’t enjoying it as I would have liked at Southport and I’ve always been keeping an eye out on results so I’m pleased to be back”

Fixture Change

Our scheduled away fixture at Gainsborough Trinity on Tuesday 29th October is now off due to the Lincolnshire sides involvement in the FA Cup First round.

After discussions between both sides and the League it has been decided that to give Gainsborough the best preparation it is to call the game off.

A date for the re-arranged fixture will be announced in due course.

Parking advice from Congleton Town

Ahead of our FA Trophy game away to Congleton Town this Saturday, we have had this advise from Congleton Town with regards parking at the ground.

We have very limited parking inside the ground and can only accommodate 2 vehicles. All other parking is street parking. We suggest Booth Street by the cricket ground or the nearest car park (less than 5 minutes walk) is West Street CW12 1JR. If you could convey that to your playing staff and travelling party (including fans) it would be helpful.”

Akeel departs

Following a seven day approach from Wakefield FC we have allowed Akeel Francis to leave the club.

Akeel made his debut, off the subs bench at home to Mickelover, but has struggled for game time since.

We wish Akeel well.

Darrin off to Abbey

Darrin Enahoro-Marcus has joined Abbey Hey on dual registration.

Manager Nick Spooner said “We think a lot of Darrin but he’s not really played any mens football yet, so with the North West Counties League starting this weekend we feel him joining him Abbey Hey will benefit us as it will get him vital experience.”
