One in One Out

It’s been a busy day at the Project Solar Stadium with one player coming in and one leaving us.  Joining us is striker Ewan Bange, Ewan joins us from Radcliffe FC on a three month loan, Ewan will be familiar to fans having played against us in the past for the likes of Bamber Bridge, FC United and Radcliffe.

Bange said ”I’ve known the managers for a while and I know how they like to play so i’m really excited to get involved.”

Manager Nick Spooner said ”I’m pleased to have got Ewan in, he’s caused us problems over the years, he gives us something different.  I know he’s been frustrated at Radcliffe as they have had success so it’s been hard for him to get in and he’s a young lad who wants to play and he’ll get that opportunity with us”

Leaving us is Jake Thompson who is off to Matlock Town for an undisclosed fee, Jake signed from Radcliffe at the beginning of last month and scored two goals in seven appearances.

The gaffer on Jake leaving said ”Jake was a player who I chased for two years, I thought he’d add a different dimension to our game.  Matlock put in a bid and it was an offer the club couldn’t refuse, Jake enjoyed his time here but it’s a good offer for the club and a good offer to Jake so he goes with our best wishes”

Collins Kagame

The Tigers have signed young forward Collins Kagame.  The 18-Year-Old came on as substitute in last night’s defeat to Hebburn Town.

Kagame can represent England or Rwanda and has come through the youth ranks at Oldham Athletic where he impressed but now he has been snapped up by the Tigers after impressing on trial.

Two In Two Out

It’s two players coming in and two leaving us, albeit one on loan.

Coming in are Jay Glover, who has signed from Matlock Town and Lewis Thompson who has signed from Atherton Collieries.

Jay made eight appearances for the Gladiators this season after being released by Sheffield Wednesday in the summer.  The 21-Year-Old had previously had loan spells at Belper Town and Spennymoor Town.

Lewis is a left back who was at Manchester United as a youngster and has previously played in this division for Bamber Bridge and Atherton Collieries. Lewis made 19 appearances last season with two goals, including one versus the Tigers in a 3-2 victory for us.

The gaffer Nick Spooner said on the signings, ”They are both players I spoke to in the summer.  Lewis we have monitored for the last 18 months when he was at Bamber Bridge and then he wanted to stay loyal to Atherton Colls but with the change of manager there we have managed to now make it happen especially as we need to strengthen in defence and get some more experience and Lewis fits that bill for us.  Jay ended up going to Matlock in the summer but for various reasons it hasn’t worked out but he has got games for Matlock this season so has learnt about the level and he was impressed how we played against them earlier in the season and wants to be part of that.”

Leaving us are Sonny Whittingham, who has signed for Bradford Park Avenue and Ayo Quadri, who has joined Atherton Collieries on a month’s loan

The gaffer said ” Sonny needs games he’s been brilliant for us when he has played and he’s had a great attitude, the idea was for him to be the replacement for Callum but then Jake and Ben have popped up and we couldn’t turn it down so he fell down the pecking order and he got a good offer from Craig Elliott over at Bradford.

Ayo needs development, we see a massive future for Ayo and his minutes have dropped in recent weeks with Jake Thompson coming in so I know Michael Clegg over at Colls will look after him and it is only for a month, which we have emphasised to Ayo, so for him to get a regular run of games starting games for the next few weeks will benefit everyone.”
