Today’s game against Whitby Town has been called off.
The pitch at the Project Solar Stadium was fine and was thawing however with bad weather and bad travel conditions in North Yorkshire, Whitby were unable to make the journey and so in co-operation with the league the game has been postponed.
A re-arranged date will be announced in due course
As well as a win for the first team this weekend the Under 21’s had a dramatic 4-3 win away at Stalybridge at Bower Fold .
After being 2-0 down at half time, two goals from Judd and a goal apiece from Maquengo and Decandia saw them win a dramatic derby.
Their was also success for our ladies team as they continued their unbeaten start to the season thanks to a 1-0 success at West Didsbury and Chorlton Reserves, thanks to a goal from Tash Sithole.
We can confirm Jake Maltby has left the club to return to Silsden. Jake made 19 appearances across all competitions.
We wish Jake well.
Hyde United FC are delighted to be able to offer free entry to Serving Armed Forces Personnel or Veterans for this Saturday’s game at home to Worksop Town.
You will need to show relevant ID at the turnstiles in order to gain free entry.
We will also be paying our respects with a minute’s silence before kick-off.
Defender Jack Byrne has signed for the Tigers from Lancaster City.
Jack has made 10 appearances for the Dolly Blues this season after signing from Widnes in the summer.
Jack made his debut against Ashton United on Saturday
We are delighted to announce the return of Callum Spooner who rejoins the club on a permanent free transfer from Southport FC
After leaving in the summer, Callum is back, and made his 104th appearance, after making his second debut at Ilkeston last night.
Nick Spooner said ”Callum became available and once we knew that we decided to make a move and after the success of his last spell here it was a no brainer”
Callum said ”I wasn’t enjoying it as I would have liked at Southport and I’ve always been keeping an eye out on results so I’m pleased to be back”
The draw for the Quarter Finals of the Manchester Premier Cup have been made
We have been drawn at home to Abbey Hey with a date to be confirmed.
We have met Abbey Hey three times before in competitive fixtures, all away from home and all have ended in victories.
Our scheduled away fixture at Gainsborough Trinity on Tuesday 29th October is now off due to the Lincolnshire sides involvement in the FA Cup First round.
After discussions between both sides and the League it has been decided that to give Gainsborough the best preparation it is to call the game off.
A date for the re-arranged fixture will be announced in due course.
It’s been a busy day at the Project Solar Stadium with one player coming in and one leaving us. Joining us is striker Ewan Bange, Ewan joins us from Radcliffe FC on a three month loan, Ewan will be familiar to fans having played against us in the past for the likes of Bamber Bridge, FC United and Radcliffe.
Bange said ”I’ve known the managers for a while and I know how they like to play so i’m really excited to get involved.”
Manager Nick Spooner said ”I’m pleased to have got Ewan in, he’s caused us problems over the years, he gives us something different. I know he’s been frustrated at Radcliffe as they have had success so it’s been hard for him to get in and he’s a young lad who wants to play and he’ll get that opportunity with us”
Leaving us is Jake Thompson who is off to Matlock Town for an undisclosed fee, Jake signed from Radcliffe at the beginning of last month and scored two goals in seven appearances.
The gaffer on Jake leaving said ”Jake was a player who I chased for two years, I thought he’d add a different dimension to our game. Matlock put in a bid and it was an offer the club couldn’t refuse, Jake enjoyed his time here but it’s a good offer for the club and a good offer to Jake so he goes with our best wishes”
