Hyde v Radcliffe preview

The Tigers are back in action on Saturday as they face league leaders Radcliffe at The Project Solar Stadium in the Northern Premier League.

The last three league games have seen Hyde draw 2-2 a in each of them, dropping them down to 8th in the table three points off Marine who currently hold the final play off spot.

Our opponents currently sit on a perch at the top of the table, having not moved since the second week of the season. Although they’re not on good form they have the ability to score a lot of goals if they are allowed chances. However if they concede first or early they tend to let more in and are vulnerable at times defensively. Having scored a huge 55 goals in just 19 games they’ve also shown their defensive weaknesses as they’ve shipped 27, meaning they’ve conceded almost 1.5 goals per game.

The reverse fixture saw Nick Spooner’s men fall to a 2-0 defeat that saw Radcliffe score two goals in quick succession at the start of the second half, including a penalty.

The previous five meetings between the two sides have seen Radcliffe come out on top in four with The Tigers only gaining a point from any of the last five encounters. That was in this fixture last season when Jack Redshaw equalised late on to earn Hyde a point.
