Bamber Bridge Preview

The Tigers are back in league action on Saturday. Following a convincing victory in the Cheshire Cup in the week Hyde host Bamber Bridge in The Northern Premier League at The Project Solar Stadium.

After The Reds first scheduled league game of December was called off last week away at Workington, Hyde will look to get off to a winning start in what is the first of a tough run of fixtures.

Last season our opponents just pipped The Tigers to the playoffs on the final day as Hyde lost to Warrington. They went on to beat Gainsborough at their place on penalties in the semi final, going on to lose to Warrington in the final. However this season Bamber are struggling in the league, last time out losing 4-0 to Marine. Our visitors are sitting in 17th position, having drawn a whopping nine games out of 19, winning just four and losing the other six.

In the reverse fixture this season Bamber Bridge came out victors by two goals to nil however Hyde always struggle away at The SFC Stadium having not won there for 19 years. Following a one goal defeat there last season, in which Jack Redshaw last missed a penalty for The Tigers, we bounced back with a 7-0 hammering of Bamber at The Project Solar just eleven days later.

Following the game in midweek spooner spoke saying, ‘earlier on in the season it was a close game but they were better than us in the final third and as I keep saying it comes down to individual errors again. We will definitely be looking for the three points on Saturday.’
