Bolton Wanderers goalkeeper Luke Hutchinson has joined the Tigers on a month’s loan.
With keeper Ritchie Branagan out for a few weeks with a groin injury, Nick Spooner has moved swiftly to bring in cover. Bury-born Luke joined Wanderers as an eight-year-old and progressed right through the Academy ranks to earn England youth recognition and a first professional deal in June, 2021.
That has since been extended to June 2024.
An excellent all-round keeper, Luke has been a regular in the Whites’ B Team and featured in first-team squads – training regularly last season with England U21 international and new Burnley goalkeeper James Trafford during his loan spell from Manchester City.
Luke has also gained first-team loan experience himself with Atherton Collieries, Bamber Bridge and Radcliffe FC.
