It’s transfer deadline day across the league and Nick Spooner has moved to bring in four new players to bolster the squad ahead of the big push towards the end of the season.

AJ Leitch Smith has joined on loan from Warrington Rylands, the 33-year-old forward boasts over 200 Football League appearances with the likes of Crew, Port Vale and Morecambe and has experience at this level as well with Nantwich Town.

Craig Carney joins us from Colne, where he had been player coach, Craig scored against us earlier in the season when he scored in Colne’s FA Trophy victory at the Project Solar Stadium.  Craig is another one with experience in this division having played for Lancaster, Marine and Bamber Bridge.

Fuad Kasali is a lightening quick forward who has been promoted from our Under 21’s setup.  Fuad has worked his way up having been an athlete when he was younger and then playing for Manchester Central before joining Atherton LR in the North West Counties and he has impressed Nick Spooner with his attitude so far.

The final signing is goalkeeper Jack Atkinson, he joins as cover for Dan Atherton.  Jack has played at Halifax, Alfreton Town and most recently AFC Bury
