It is with great sadness that we have to report the passing of former Chairman, Director, long term sponsor and supporter, Allan Kenyon. Allan passed away in hospital on Sunday morning after a brave battle with Motor Neurone Disease.
Allan was only a director for a short time, from March 2011 to September 2012, but oversaw the
appointment of Gary Lowe as manager, and one of the most successful seasons in the club’s history, culminating in promotion to what is now the National League.
Allan and his wife Dee have been Hyde United supporters for many years, and sponsored the club on many occasions, both personally and through their company ATS Plumbing and Heating. They were also invaluable in assisting with our board room hospitality, and instrumental in forging good relations with both Manchester United and Manchester City when their reserve teams used our facilities.
Allan was diagnosed with this dreadful disease about 18 months ago, and it has been heartbreaking to see it taking its toll on his health.
He still continued to support the club, and was able to attend some home games until recently.
We send our condolences to Dee, Vicky and Brad and the Kenyon family, who are all in our thoughts at this time.
