Nick Spooner continues his preparations towards the 2022/23 season with the signing of Javid Swaby-Neavin on a permanent deal following a loan spell last season and the re-signing of Callum Spooner on one-year deals.
Javid made six appearances on loan from FC Halifax Town, and impressed, before he was recalled by the National League Play-Off contenders.
Following his release from the club Nick Spooner didn’t hesitate to snap him up permanently.
Callum Spooner also joined us towards the end of the season, following a move from Bamber Bridge, and also impressed in his eight appearances for the club.
Nick said ”Both players came in and did a great job for us at the end of the season, they were both players I wanted to re-sign and pleased to get them over the line. It’s a real coup to get Javid on board permanently, we can see what he did in this league last season, he can get forward he’s got a long throw and the fact Halifax took him back and then played him in the National League shows he has quality so it’s a really good signing for us. Callum came in and we asked him to do a job in midfield and he enjoyed his time so he’s happy to come back.”
Callum said ‘‘I’m delighted to get it down, I was really struck by how professional the club is and I’m looking forward to next season especially with the core members of the squad that we already have here and with a few additions I feel we can really push on.”
