New Solar battery options provide customers with other incomes and savings as they can trade energy at peak times. Today, Tom Armstrong and Ben Thorp, partners in the business, came to visit the club.
Tom Armstrong told us, “Living locally, I have always kept an eye on the Tigers’ progress as well as my sons playing in the youth teams. I heard Hyde United was looking for some support during and after Covid, after playing only around 8 games last season. After a brief visit I was so impressed with the youth development side of the club and the first team’s ambitious plans, we decided to have further discussions on how we could work together. Hyde United FC has a great community spirit, run by a board that really cares about the fans and local community. I am delighted our company can be involved in this long term project”.
Ben Thorp added, “We would like to thank the club’s board members and fans for this opportunity. We’re looking forward to supporting the club over the years and building on the success of the club base.”
Simon Peat, who founded Project Solar, added “We employ so many people locally that this sponsorship is mutually beneficial. It’s a great way to mark our 10-year anniversary.”
We look forward to working closely with Project Solar UK in a partnership that will be beneficial to both parties and we welcome them to the home of the Tigers.
The past 18 months have been difficult for many companies, and finding sponsorship on this level is hard to come by. So, great credit is due to those at the football club who helped to broker this deal and put in the work to get it over the line.
