Hyde United are saddened to hear of the recent passing of Derek Partridge.

He was the main organiser of the Manchester City Veterans team and the Club worked closely with Derek over recent years in facilitating charity matches at the ground.

We were in discussions regarding a City v United veterans match in aid of the NHS, which Derek and ourselves hoped would become an annual event for the Colin Bell Memorial Trophy; we certainly hope to host that match when the time is right later in the year and in honour of Derek.

Derek was a tireless worker for charity and a genuinely nice man who will be sadly missed. We send our sincere condolences to his wife Carole and family.”
