Match Report

Att: 101 Luke Porritt 6
Tom Pratt 86

The Tigers came into this game with Manager Darren Kelly asking for a response from his players following the South Shields defeat on Saturday.

Kendal had already got draws at home to Scarborough and South Shields and although going through a sticky patch a Tuesday night trip up to Kendal is never an easy one, there were a few changes from the Saturday game at South Shields with James Hodges replacing Goalkeeper Peter Crook missing with injury following his clash with Carl Finnigan the South Shields forward who was knocked out on Saturday but we are all glad to hear he is making a good recovery.

Other changes saw David Brown coming in for Big khamsuk and Dom Marie starting upfront in place of Matty Beadle, following some heavy rain it was good to see the game on and although the pitch was a bit wet and with a bit of a bobble the Kendal staff had done a great job getting the game on.

Kendal started brightly having a chance in just the 1st minute with the Kendal forward finding himself with a 1 on 1 with Hodges who was making his league debut for the Tigers and made a smart save to keep it 0-0 shortly after Hyde took control and on 6' we opened the scoring David Brown getting the ball on the edge of the area knocking it past the full back before drilling a ball across the 6 yard box to find Luke Porritt coming in on the far post to tap it home,1-0 Hyde and the Tigers were looking to increase the lead Kyle Harrison had a shot come cross which the Keeper had to tip over the bar, on 30' the Tigers had a great chance with a Brown's excellent first touch getting him a 1 on 1 with the keeper who made a good save keeping the scoreline 0-1.a couple more half chances for Hyde with Jones shooting over from 10 yards brought the half to a close Kendal 0 Hyde 1

The second half Hyde started where they left off a second goal would of killed the game off but the Tigers were finding it hard to grab the second, a goal line headed clearance by kendal's Dawson and some good goalkeeping by Johnson give them some hope they could rescue the game and Kendal put Hyde under some pressure as the game went on, Hodges who received the Man of the Match award held onto everything that was fired at him,on the 83' Big Khamsuk replaced Brown and it was Khamsuk who set the 2nd goal up, a great run from midfield he played a defence splitting pass to Pratt who coolly slotted the ball past the keeper making it 2-0 to the Tigers.

The goal was certainly needed to put the game to bed a valuable 3 points on a cold miserable evening in Kendal witnessed by a crowd of 101 with the majority being Hyde fans and although wet and cold it was certainly worth the trip,on to Saturday hopefully the Tigers can keep the momentum going with another tough game against Clitheroe one of only 2 teams to beat the Tigers this season.
